Suspend

Of all the STEM games I pull out in my Game School, Suspend is by far my favorite to play. This is because, as the name suggests, it is so suspenseful! You and everyone at the table will be holding your breath as you add your various sized rods to the structure in the middle of the table. Suspend is for 1-4 players ages 5+. It takes about 20 minutes to play.

Let’s Play!

Each player starts out with one of each color of rod placed in front of them. The stand is set up in the middle of the table and the die placed within reach of all players. The goal of Suspend is to get rid of all the rods in front of you.

Setup

On your turn, simply roll the die and place that color rod on the structure. Sounds easy enough, right? Not so, because you can only use one hand when placing your rod. Be careful! If any rods fall while you are taking your turn, you have to take everything that fell and place it in front of you.

Playing Suspend

While playing suspend you are learning about balance, weight, and momentum while working on patience, risk-assessment, and hand-eye coordination. For younger children, Suspend also helps with color recognition. Everyone I have played this game with LOVES it!

Where to Purchase

You can purchase a copy of Suspend on Amazon. It is also available in many retail stores.
